A Labor Law Professor was discussing cursing in the workplace and said it depends on the situation. Employee conduct that includes swearing may be vulgar, profane and offensive and still remain protected under the National Labor Relations Act. However, if the conduct may be so egregious, dishonest, threatening, violent or insubordinate it may exceed the protection of labor law. So think twice before you sound off so you don't cross that "fine line."
