Not many visitors venture down to the Jersey Shore in late January - the surf is rough, the days are short and many attractions have closed and fled to sunny Florida. But that grand master, Donald J. Trump, has scheduled a rally on January 28th in Wildwood - by - the -sea. Suddenly, motel rates have increased and shutters are being removed. Has he checked with Chris Christi or the weatherman? With his obsession with crowd size he will have to do some multiplication and ban all the aerial photographers. Had he chosen a different site - Margate-by-the-Sea - thirty miles north, he could have used Lucy the Elephant for a GOP backdrop. Lucy has been on the Margate beach since 1881 waiting for her chance at notoriety. Anyway, those MAGA hats had better come with earmuffs and don't treat those chattering teeth as applause. Meanwhile, Cozy Morley's statue in Anglesea will be rolling his eyes.
